Scripted Video Goes Viral as a Police Officer Schooling Drunk Hostel Girls for Creating Public Nuisance…

A video is going viral on Twitter where an officer from Haryana Police can be seen confronting two drunk women on a street. The Police officer stops their car and later schools them for drinking alcohol and creating public nuisance.

However, we found this video to be scripted. The Police officer seen in the video is not a real Police officer but a local actor from Haryana.

In the tweet above, we can see a Policeman arguing with two women. The Policeman examines the soft drink bottle and find out that the women have been drinking alcohol. The Policeman then schools them and asks, “Ladki hoke daaru piti ho” (Being a girl, how can you drink alcohol?) The girls behave rudely with the Policeman and try to bribe him.

The tweet has received more than 1.8K likes and over 300 retweets so far. However, many users have replied that the video clearly appears to be scripted. Some even said that the video is a prank video and can be made out from the “bad acting” in the video.

Fact Check

We checked the replies received to the tweet. Many users commented that the video is a prank video from a creator called Amar Kataria. We searched for Amar Kataria on Facebook and found his Facebook page. His Facebook page has a longer version of the same video where he can be seen chasing the women’s car and then confronting them. Towards the end of the video, he can be seen preaching to the women. 

The video does not contain any disclaimer, which is necessary while sharing such videos on social media platforms. We searched more about Amar Kataria and found that he is actually an actor from Haryana who has appeared in several music videos and short films. His Instagram account’s username is officialactoramarkataria.

We also found a YouTube video, where he can be seen along with other Haryanvi influencers Pranjal Dahiya, Amit Bishnoi, Harsh Gahlaut and Amar Kataria. The video celebrates Haryana day and the host interviews influencers from Haryana like Pranjal Dahiya and Amar Kataria. While introducing Kataria, he calls him a ‘veteran actor with more than 20 years of experience in the field’. You can watch the video below:

The host also says that Kataria mostly plays the role of a Police officer. In this video too, he can be seen in a Police uniform. 

Conclusion

From our investigation, it is clear that the viral video is actually scripted. An actor Amar Kataria created the video. Kataria is known for making video where he plays a Police officer.
