Following the Haryana Assembly Polls results, a video of Haryana Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda went viral on social media. The video shows Deepender Singh Hooda in tears and sharing the video on social media users are claiming that the video shows Hooda going emotional after the defeat in the recent Assembly Elections in Haryana. Sharing the video on Facebook users wrote, “यह उम्मीद नहीं थी हरियाणा से 💔

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was misleading. The viral video has no link to the recent Haryana Assembly Elections. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a report published in DNA India on 5 June 2024. The report contained a photo similar to the screenshots of the viral video. According to the report, Deepender Singh Hooda became emotional after his victory in the 2024 Loksabha Elections from Rohtak.

Taking this clue we searched on Google and YouTube using relevant keywords. This led us to a longer version of the viral video uploaded on a YouTube channel on 4 June 2024. The voiceover in the video mentioned that Deepender Singh Hooda got emotional after winning from Rohtak in the 2024 Loksabha Elections.

Further, we found the same video on the X handle of Harish Chaudhary, MLA Baytu, on 6 June 2024. Sharing the video, he congratulated Deepender Singh Hooda on his victory from Rohtak.

This makes it clear that the viral video has no link to the recent Haryana Assembly Elections.

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video shows Deepender Singh Hooda going emotional after the victory from Rohtak in the Loksabha Elections 2024. This has no link to the recent Haryana Assembly Elections.
