Salman Khan’s video message during 2020 Covid Lockdown shared as him threatening Lawrence Bishnoi

This is a short excerpt of a video message released by Salman Khan during the Covid lockdown in 2020

Baba Siddique, a senior politician of the Nationalist Congress Party was shot dead on 12 October. Following this, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took to social media claiming responsibility for the killing, and warning that anyone aiding Salman Khan or the Dawood gang should be wary of the consequences. The actor has faced several threats from the Bishnoi gang over the years regarding his alleged involvement in the 1999 Blackbuck killing case, an animal considered sacred by the Bishnoi community. 

Against this backdrop, a video of Salman Khan allegedly threatening Lawrence Bishnoi has gone viral on social media. This is being shared amidst reports that Baba Siddique was killed for his close ties with Salman Khan.

Fact Check-

We started our investigation by conducting a keyword and reverse image search on Google and the results led us to an extended version of this viral video uploaded on the official YouTube channel of Salman Khan on 22 May 2020. The portion seen in the viral video can be seen from the timestamp of 8:24 minutes. In this video he was seen criticising the people who were violating the rules of the COVID-19 lockdown.

Using this hint, we looked further and found an NDTV report published on 16 April, 2020. It featured an image of Salman Khan in the same attire and background as seen in the viral video and stated “Salman Khan, in his latest social media post, delivered a strong message against those who are violating the lockdown and putting the lives of others at risk amid the coronavirus outbreak.”

The report also featured an Instagram post by him, featuring his video message around the Covid lockdown posted on 15 April, 2020. The actor urged the public to adhere to lockdown regulations and emphasized the importance of collective responsibility during the pandemic.

Multiple media outlets reported on this video message of Salman Khan amid the Covid lockdown in April, 2020. You can see them here and here. It is important to note that Salman Khan has not issued any public comments about Lawrence Bishnoi or Baba Siddique’s murder recently.

So, we can understand that an old video of Salman Khan addressing the public about violations of COVID-19 lockdown regulations is being shared as a recent video of him threatening Lawrence Bishnoi.
