False

Is Pepsi Offering Work From Home Opportunity? No. Don’t Fall For The Scam.

A post claiming that now PepsiCo is offering work from home job offers is going viral on social media. The comment section of the post includes a link to apply for the same job. This is not the first time something like this is in circulation.

Fact crescendo found the claim to be false. These kinds of job offers are scams and fraudulent in nature to extract personal and bank information of people.

What’s the claim?

The post reads, “If you can work from (#Pepsi ) home please let me know, we have a lot of openings. You can also work around your children as well (background noise is fine!). It’s what we do. The job is flexible and can be done on weekends as well. Best for new moms, retirees, or anyone who is disabled or wants to work from home generally

Fact Check-

At first, we clicked on the link provided in the comment section to apply for the job. We found that the website is carrying the PepsiCo logo and a bit of details about the job. Firstly, the link provided did not open the official website of PepsiCobut took to some third party website. Secondly, the website only mentions the salary without providing any job description or profile details. This made us suspicious about the credibility of the site.

A user in a tweet asked PepsiCo for clarification if the company asks money for job interviews. Replying to the tweet PepsiCo confirmed that this is a scam. It further clarified that all the employment opportunities can be found on their website.

PepsiCo also warned people of fraudulent job postings and fake recruiter emails. Scammers often post fake job listings, pretending to be from PepsiCo, using the company’s name and branding to make their scams look real. They might create fake social media posts, websites, and email addresses, and even pretend to be PepsiCo recruiters or employees. These scammers are not connected to PepsiCo in any way. Be cautious if you receive a job offer from PepsiCo without applying, notice anything unusual on the website or in the message, find spelling or grammar mistakes in the communication, or are asked for sensitive personal information, such as account numbers, or to access accounts, transfer money, or make or receive payments from a third party.

Conclusion:

Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. PepsiCo is not offering work from home job opportunities. The viral post is a scam.
