A post is going viral on social media claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a reward of Rs. 5000 for every Indian citizen. The message asks people to click on a link to claim the reward.
Fact Crescendo found that the claim is completely false and the message is part of an phishing ploy. The BJP has not announced any such reward.
WHAT’S THE CLAIM?
The viral post includes a photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP’s lotus symbol, along with a message saying, “Every Indian citizen will receive Rs. 5000 from BJP as a Diwali gift.”

FACT-CHECK
When we searched online, there was no official announcement, report, or reliable news about any such offer from the BJP.
We also checked BJP’s official website and verified their social media handles on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram. There was no post, message, or statement about this scheme anywhere.
We then examined the website link pradhanofffers.online. The site is not connected to BJP or the Indian government in any way.
According to ScamAdviser, the company that registered this domain has also created many suspicious and spam websites. The website’s trust score is very low, meaning it is unsafe and untrustworthy.
Beware of Phishing Scam
This is a phishing scam, a common online fraud tactic. In such scams, people are shown fake government or corporate offers to make them believe they are getting a reward.
Once they click on the link, they are asked to share personal details like their phone number, bank account, or UPI PIN. Sometimes, they are even asked to pay a small “processing fee.”
Once the user provides this information, scammers can steal money or misuse personal data.
If you ever see a link offering “free money,” “government gift,” or “cash rewards,” treat it as suspicious.
Genuine government websites always end with .gov.in or .nic.in. Fake sites usually have spelling mistakes or strange domain names to look similar to real ones.
CONCLUSION
The claim that BJP is giving Rs 5000 to every citizen is false. It is not an official scheme but an online scam designed to steal your personal information.
Do not share your details or click on such links. Always check through official websites or government announcements before believing or forwarding such claims.
