The Election Commission has recently announced the dates for the Bihar elections. Voting in Bihar will be held in two phases on 6th and 11th November. In connection with this, a video of RJD leader Seema Kushwaha is going viral. In the video, Seema Kushwaha can be seen crying and talking about her ticket. It is being claimed that this video is from the recent Bihar elections. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) refused to give her a ticket.

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation by conducting a keyword and reverse image search on Google and the results led us to the similar video uploaded on a YouTube channel called News One 11. The video was shared on 7 October, 2020. The caption reads, “Seema Kushwaha makes serious allegations against Upendra Kushwaha.”

Moving forward, we found multiple video reports regarding this. In October 2020, Sima uploaded a Facebook Live video and gave interviews explaining that she was upset after being denied a ticket by Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) and feeling ignored by the party leadership. Upset over this, she resigned from the party.

According to a report published on the Navbharat Times website on July 22, 2025, “Seema Kushwaha was initially part of Mukesh Sahni’s VIP party. She then joined Upendra Kushwaha’s party. Then, in July 2023, she joined the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal).”

As the video gained traction on social media, Sima Kushwaha clarified on Twitter on October 10, 2025, by sharing a video explaining that the viral video is old. The tweet reads, “The video that is going viral is an old 2020 video. This time, in 2025, we must make the honourable Tejashwi Yadav ji the Chief Minister of Bihar under all circumstances”.

Additionally, RJD has released the list of 44 probable candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Sima Kushwaha’s name is not present in the list shared by the media.   

Taking account of all these evidences, we can understand that viral video of Sima Kushwaha in tears dates back to 2020, when she was denied a ticket by the RLSP.
