After violence erupted on 26 September, 2025, over a “I Love Muhammad” billboard campaign, Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh is on high alert. The issue began on 4 September in Kanpur, when some people protested to an illuminated “I Love Muhammad” poster placed during an Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi procession. We started the investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to multiple social media posts and these posts states that the video shows a youth demonstration in Jaipur, organised to seek justice for the families of children killed in the Jhalawar school tragedy. The caption of the below post reads, “Naresh Meena is on a hunger strike at SMS Hospital. A massive torchlight procession was led by his son, Anirudh, to pay tribute to the children who died in the Jhalawar-Piplodi accident”.

In another video shared on Twitter on 25 September 2025, we can hear the slogans which are not the ones heard in the viral video being circulated on social media. The rough translation of the Hindi slogans states that the government should come to its senses and do justice or drown and die. They also call it Naresh Meena Zindabad.

Upon further search, we came across a news report from NDTV. According to this news, Naresh Meena has been on a hunger strike for 14 days demanding compensation of Rs 50 lakh each to the relatives of the children who died in the roof collapse of a school in Jhalawar, Rajasthan in July. A torch rally was organized in Jaipur under the leadership of his son in support of Naresh Meena.
