Altered Video Of ADC Leh, Ghulam Muhammad, Going Viral.

Recently, a video of ADC Leh, Ghulam Muhammad, went viral on social media, in which he allegedly stated that the Home Ministry had instructed the police to arrest Sonam Wangchuk and Amit Shah’s office instructed them to label Sonam Wangchuk as a “Pakistani Agent”. In the viral video, the ADC of Leh urged people not to attack the Police.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the viral video was altered. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a video uploaded on a YouTube channel on 25 September 2025. The video matched the viral video, but the ADC Leh didn’t mention anything about the Home Ministry and Amit Shah in the video. In the video, the ADC Leh, Ghulam Muhammad, can be seen giving a media briefing about the casualties during the Leh Protest on 24 September 2025. He urged people to maintain peace in the area.

Moving forward, we found the same video on the official Facebook page of the “Department of Information & Public Relations, Leh, Ladakh” on 25 September 2025 with the caption, “Press Briefing by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Sh. Ghulam Mohd. (JKAS), along with Additional Superintendent of Police, Leh Sh. Regzin Sangdup (JKPS)”

Nowhere in the video did the ADC Leh mention that Sonam Wangchuk was arrested on instructions from the Home Ministry nor did he say that Amit Shah’s office instructed them to label Sonam Wangchuk as a “Pakistani Agent”. The video shows the ADC Leh, Ghulam Muhammad, providing details of the casualties in the protests on 24 September 2025.

This makes it clear that the viral video has been edited.

Conclusion 

From our investigation, we can say that the viral video has been altered. The ADC Leh, Ghulam Muhammad, didn’t say that Sonam Wangchuk was arrested on the instructions from the Home Ministry, and Amit Shah’s office instructed them to label Sonam Wangchuk as a Pakistani Agent. In the original video, the ADC Leh was providing details of the casualties in the protests on 24 September 2025.
