This video shows floods in Karachi, Pakistan, that occurred in August 2025.

Heavy rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir has caused severe flooding, particularly in the Jammu region, due to the overflow of the Tawi River. A portion of the road along the fourth Tawi bridge has been washed away in the floods following incessant heavy rainfall. Against this backdrop, a video showing a man being swept away by floodwaters was shared on social media with the claim that it shows an incident from Jammu City.

Fact Check- 

Our investigation began with a reverse image search of key frames from the viral video and the results led us to a similar video uploaded by multiple social media posts from local media based in Pakistan. And it states that the video is from Karachi, Pakistan. It predates the flood in Jammu.

As per reports, Karachi experienced significant urban flooding around 19-20 August 2025. At least 11 people have died and 10 others have been injured due to torrential monsoon rains that flooded roads, collapsed structures, and caused widespread power outages. Local media reported that victims included those electrocuted or trapped under debris. 

For more clarification, we geolocated the video to the area near the Nursery Flyover in Karachi. It also confirms that the viral video is from Karachi, Pakistan, not Jammu.

So, taking account of all these evidences, we can understand that the video is from Karachi, Pakistan.

Conclusion- Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. This video shows floods in Karachi, Pakistan, that occurred in August 2025.
