A video showing a massive fire in a high-rise building is going viral on social media. It is being claimed that the incident took place at Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s flat in Mumbai. It has also been said that thousands of people died in this fire.
Fact Crescendo received several requests to verify this claim via our WhatsApp Tipline (9049053770).
We found that the claim is false. The video is not from Mumbai but from Dubai, where a major fire broke out in the Marina Pinnacle building.
WHAT’S THE CLAIM?
In a 13-second video, a skyscraper can be seen engulfed in flames.
The text in the video reads: “Fire at Salman Khan’s Mumbai flat on 22 July 2025. Thousands of people lost their lives in a horrific tragedy.”
FACT-CHECK
We first checked credible news sources and found no reports of any such fire in Mumbai or at Salman Khan’s residence.
We then performed a reverse image search of key frames from the video. This led us to multiple reports and videos confirming that the fire took place in Dubai, not Mumbai.
A Twitter (X) user had also shared a similar video, stating that a “massive fire broke out at Tiger Tower (Marina Pinnacle) in Dubai Marina.”
Khaleej Times reported that the fire broke out on the upper floors of the Marina Pinnacle Tower on 13 June 2025. The blaze quickly spread upwards, covering a large portion of the exterior in thick black smoke.
The Dubai Media Office said that specialised teams successfully evacuated 3,820 residents of 764 apartments, ensuring their safety without any injuries.
Fact Crescendo also verified the location using Google Maps and Street View.
The building seen burning in the viral video matches the Marina Pinnacle Tower. The blue skyscraper visible in the background is Torch Tower, also located in Dubai Marina.
CONCLUSION
The viral video showing a skyscraper on fire is from Dubai, not Mumbai.
It is being falsely shared with the claim that the fire broke out at Salman Khan’s flat in Mumbai. There is no report of any such incident at Salman Khan’s residence.
