Old Bharat Jodo Yatra video goes viral as the first day of the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar

This is an old video of the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Raichur, Karnataka. It dates back to October 2022. 

On 17 August, 2025, Rahul Gandhi launched a Voter Adhikar Yatra in Sasaram, Bihar. The objective of the Yatra is to oppose the process of ongoing special intensive revision of the voters’ list in Bihar. Leaders of the INDI alliance are also participating in it. The 16-day yatra will pass through more than twenty districts of the state and conclude on 1st September at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.

Against this backdrop, a video of huge crowd parading is going viral on social media with a claim that it shows the first day of the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar, featuring Rahul Gandhi.

Let’s check the truth.

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation by running a Google reverse image search and the results led us to the same video uploaded on twitter in October 2022. And the post mentions that the video was from the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Raichur, Karnataka. The caption states, “Karnataka has showered massive love on Sh. Rahul Gandhi. Lakhs of people joined the Yatra in Raichur, Karnataka to show their love for Congress party”.

This indicates that the viral video is not recent and not related to Voter Adhikar Yatra.

Moving forward, we found several news reports regarding this. As per reports when Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi entered in Raichur Karnataka in October 2022, Senior Congress leaders, including KPCC chief DK Shivakumar and HK Patil, received Rahul at the border. 

Moving forward, we found the same video on the official Instagram account of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, uploaded on 22 October, 2022. According to the post, the visuals are from the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Raichur, Karnataka. 

Taking account of this evidence, we can understand that an old video from Karnataka’s Raichur was falsely shared as the first day of the 2025 Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar.

Conclusion- Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be Misleading. This is an old video of the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Raichur, Karnataka. It dates back to October 2022. It has no link to Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar.
