As per the Times of India report, Karnataka Congress MLA KC Veerendra was arrested on 23 August 23 from Gangtok, Sikkim, in connection with an illegal betting racket. Veerendra used to run illegal online betting platforms with the help of his brother, KC Thippeswamy. Many of the betting-related operations were managed from Dubai.
