Video of a woman thrashed by police falsely shared linking to folk Singer Neha Singh Rathore

The woman being thrashed by the police in this video is not Neha Singh Rathore, but another animal rights activist. 

A video showing female police personnel thrashing a woman inside a bus is going viral on social media with a claim that the woman is Bihar’s folk singer Neha Singh Rathore.

Fact Check-

We began our investigation by conducting a reverse image search on Google, which led us to a similar video uploaded on the Instagram handle of The Savera Times on 13 August, 2025. The caption states, “Women Dog-Lovers Beaten & Dragged by Female Cops Despite SC Order”

We found a report related to this incident published by the Free Press Journal carrying the screenshot of the viral video. According to the report, on 13 August 2025, a protest was held in Delhi against the Supreme Court order regarding stray dogs. During this, Delhi Police took the protesters into custody. The protesters were protesting against this action of the police when a clash broke out between an animal rights activist and a female police officer, due to which the police beat up the protesting girl. 

Upon further search, we came across another version of the video on the Facebook page of The Times of India, where the woman’s face is clearly visible, confirms that she is not Neha Singh Rathore. The video credit was given to Aarushi Chaudhary, who had originally posted it on Instagram on August 12. 

The viral claim’s timing coincides with protests held in various parts of the country, especially in Delhi after the Supreme Court’s order of removing the stray dogs from Delhi-NCR. The animal lovers and rights activists took to the streets to register their protest against the order passed by the apex court. Against this backdrop, Neha Singh Rathore issued a clarification on Twitter stating: “A rumour is being spread that I have had a clash with the Delhi Police… this is false news… I am currently safe at my home.”

We compared Neha Singh Rathore’s image with the woman in the viral video. Here, the two women’s faces seem to be different. It is clear that Neha Singh Rathore is not the woman in the viral video. You can see the comparison of both images below.

So, we can conclusively say that the woman seen in the viral video is not folk singer Neha Singh Rathore.

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. The woman in the video who is fighting with the police is not folk singer Neha Singh Rathore, it shows an animal rights activist who was protesting against a Supreme Court order related to stray dogs.
