Recently a video of an underpass submerged in water went viral on social media claiming it to be the flood situation in Kharghar, Mumbai after the recent heavy rainfall in Mumbai.
However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The viral video is old and unrelated to the recent floods in Mumbai. Here’s the fact check.

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a report published in Dainik Bhaskar in July 2025 that contained an image similar to the screenshots from the viral video. According to the report, the image shows the waterlogging in Delhi in July 2025.
Moving forward, we found the same video uploaded on the Instagram handle JIST on 10 July 2025.

This makes it clear that the viral video is old and unrelated to the recent floods in Mumbai.

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show the recent flood situation in Mumbai. According to reports, the video shows an underpass in Delhi in July 2025.
