This video shows Gen Z protests in Kenya. It is unrelated to Indian Army
A video of some people pelting stones on a military vehicle is going viral on social media with the claim that it shows an incident in India, where people allegedly attacked an Indian Army vehicle.
Let’s check the truth.
Fact Check-
We started our investigation by performing a reverse image search with the key frames of the viral video and the results led us to the same video uploaded by a Facebook page named Nsem sisi Tv on 2 July 2025. The caption states, “See what happens now in Kenya”
Using these hints, we conducted further searches and found the same video uploaded by the official YouTube channel of Mutembei TV, a Kenya-based news portal, on 25 June, 2025. The caption and description stated that it is linked to the violent Gen Z protests that erupted in Kenya. It indicates that the viral video is unrelated to India.
Genz protest in Kenya
As per reports, the Gen Z uprising against police brutality in Kenya has already resulted in around 10 fatalities. The unrest began in Kenya in June last year, in response to government-proposed tax increases and incidents of police brutality. While the tax bill was later withdrawn, the protests reignited in June this year following the death of blogger Albert Ojwang while in police custody.
So, based on all these evidences we can understand that the viral video shows an incident in Kenya, where Gen-Z protested marking the first anniversary of the 2024 anti-Finance Bill. It is not of people throwing stones at an Indian Army vehicle.
Conclusion-
Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. This video shows Gen Z protests in Kenya. It is unrelated to Indian Army.
