A video claiming a Muslim man named Salim, disguised as a Hindu named Ravi, to marry a Hindu woman is going viral on social media. The users who share the video claims that it is a real incident.

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation by conducting a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a similar video uploaded by a YouTube channel named Monty Deepak Sharma on 23 July, 2025. The user, identifying himself as a digital creator and his other social media accounts like Instagram, Facebook  carry the same viral video.

Upon further search, we found that he uploaded the video of the similar skit shot from a different angle on his Instagram account Monty Deepak Sharma and a Facebook page on 28 July 2025. In this, a disclaimer appears at the 00:03-minute mark in the video. It states that this is a work of fiction made for entertainment purposes and not areal incident. But the audience will hardly be able to read or notice the disclaimer, though, because it only lasts for less than a second.

Upon checking Facebook profile of this account, we found that the bio states: “TV Artist. Broadcast. Bringing up new video projects every day. Enjoy shorts content/reels/video scenes from our released projects!!” The same account hosts several other scripted videos, confirming that this viral video is also scripted and not a real incident.

Further, to confirm the details, we scanned through other videos uploaded on the YouTube channel and found many scripted videos like the viral video. The individuals playing the roles of the policemen, the married woman, and the man who allegedly faked his identity had appeared in several other scripted videos uploaded by him. For more clarification we contacted Monty Deepak Sharma for a confirmation regarding the viral claim. The story will be updated as soon as we receive a response.
