Fact-Check: Viral Dubai Emirates Flight Crash Video is Fake and AI-Generated

A video showing a passenger aircraft crashing on a runway is going viral on social media.

Many users have shared the video, claiming it shows a recent Emirates Airlines flight crash in Dubai, UAE.

Fact Crescendo found that the viral video is not real. It has been digitally created using AI tools and does not show any real flight crash.

WHAT’S THE CLAIM?

The short clip shows a passenger plane sliding on the runway, engulfed in smoke and flames, along with the caption: “Dubai UAE Flight crash.”

FACT-CHECK

By analysing multiple frames of the viral video, we found that it contains elements such as textures, lighting issues, spelling errors, and unnatural movements that are common signs of AI-generated content.

Distorted Aircraft Design

The proportions and features of the plane in the video do not match the actual design of Emirates aircraft. The body and shape appear distorted.

Wrong name spelling

The body of the plane shows the word “Emiraes” instead of “Emirates.”

This spelling mistake is another clue that the video is not authentic.

Incorrect Tail Logo

The tail of the plane clearly shows the red and white logo used by Qantas Airways, an airline based in Australia. This logo has no connection to Emirates. It suggests that the visuals are a mix of different elements, not a real Emirates aircraft.

Unrealistic Smoke Behaviour

The smoke in the video is unusually white and clean. In real plane crashes, smoke is usually black due to fuel fire.

Also, in this video, the smoke disappears suddenly instead of spreading naturally. This kind of visual effect is often seen in AI-generated videos.

No credible news of any Emirates crash

There is no report of any Emirates Airlines flight crash in Dubai in recent days.

The last major Emirates crash was in 2016. In recent years, there have been minor technical issues or emergency landings, but no crash of this nature.

We also ran a screenshot of the video through an AI-generated image detector tool called ‘Was It AI’. It gave strong signals that the visuals were digitally created.

Conclusion

Fact Crescendo found that the video claiming to show an Emirates flight crash in Dubai is false. The video is not real. It has been digitally created using AI tools. There are no official reports of any Emirates plane crash in Dubai at present.
