Video of a murder incident from Pakistan falsely shared as an incident from Uttar Pradesh

A disturbing video showing the dead bodies of several children and a woman lying on the floor of a house, soaked in blood is going viral on social media with the claim that thieves killed an entire family in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, after finding nothing to steal.

Fact Check- 

By conducting a reverse image search on one of the video’s key frames, we discovered a several social media posts from April 2024 featuring the same video. These posts claimed the incident took place in Mudwala, Alipur tehsil, Muzaffargarh district, Punjab, Pakistan.

Moving forward, we found a report regarding this incident on a website named livegore.com on 11 April, 2024. It states that in a gruesome incident in Pakistan’s Punjab province, a poverty-stricken man killed his wife and seven children with an axe because he could not feed them.

We then found multiple news reports from April 2024 about this incident. The report states, a man named Sajjad Hussain who murdered his wife and children by using a hammer. He was arrested by Saddar Police, and sources said Sajjad was facing financial difficulties and mental health challenges.

We also found a Twitter post by the official handle of Uttar Pradesh Police shared on 24 July 2025. The police clarified that the video is from an incident that took place in Muzaffargarh, Pakistan, in 2024. They also informed that three individuals had been arrested for allegedly conspiring to spread communal tension and violence in western Uttar Pradesh by circulating the misleading video.

Taking account of all these evidences, we can understand that an old video of a murder incident from Pakistan falsely shared as an incident from Uttar Pradesh

Conclusion- 

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. This viral video is not from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. This is a 2024 incident in Punjab, Pakistan, involving a man named Sajjad killing his wife and seven children, was reported as a result of financial crisis.
