A video of a lady wearing a burqa who was caught using high-tech equipment for helping an applicant in cheating during a government job exam in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh is going viral on social media with claims suggesting that the woman is a Muslim.
Let’s check the truth
Fact Check–
We started our investigation with keyword and reverse image search on Google and the results led us to some news reports regarding this incident. According to the Times of India report , the incident took place on July 13, 2025 in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. A young woman entered the examination hall with a spy camera hidden in her underwear and a micro earpiece inside her earring. Her sister, who was standing outside in an autorickshaw, was giving her answers in real time during the examination through her tablet, walkie-talkie and Bluetooth devices.

Based on these evidences, we can clearly understand that the viral video shows mass cheating incident during an LLB examination that took place on February 2024. It is not related to civil services examinations conducted by UPSC.
According to these reports, the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board held a recruitment exam on 13 July 2025, in Bilaspur, for 113 vacancies of Sub- engineer (Civil and Electrical/Mechanical) in the Public Works Department. During the exam at the Government Ramdulare Boys Higher Secondary School in Sarkanda, a high-tech cheating case was uncovered. Police apprehended two sisters, Anusurya and Anuradha, in connection with the incident.
The duo, Anuradha and Annu Surya, were caught after the driver of the vehicle they were travelling in from Jashpur intervened. The driver, suspecting that they were cheating, informed the National Students Union (NSUI) representatives. Following this, the police reached the spot and arrested both.
The walkie talkie, earphones etc. were ordered online. They learnt the trick of cheating through the internet. The news also says that a case has been registered against the two under sections 318 (2) and 112 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A report by ABP Live, including the footage of the sisters being arrested for cheating.
Bilaspur Police has issued an explanation on its social media page on 15 July, 2025, including the details of the arrested Anuradha and Anusurya. Both are the children of Kaleshwar Ram, a resident of Kuparkapa village in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh.
The case has been registered at Sarkanda police station. The investigating officer said that the claim that the girls arrested in the cheating case not belong to the Muslim community, they belong to the Hindu religion. So, the investigation has revealed that the burqa-wearing girl who was caught cheating is not a Muslim but a Hindu.
