Old and unrelated video goes viral as a protest against the Bollywood movie Udaipur Files

This video shows a massive protest against the passing of the Waqf Amendment Act in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu in April 2025

‘Udaipur Files’ is a Hindi language crime thriller film inspired by the true events surrounding the brutal murder of Udaipur-based tailor Kanhaiya Lal. Delhi High Court had put a stay on the film’s release of 10 July and had ordered the Centre to take a final decision on pleas seeking a permanent ban over the film’s potential to “promote disharmony” in society.

The Supreme Court heard the matter on the release of the film ‘Udaipur Files’ on 16 July 2025 and ordered not to release the film until the report of the panel constituted by the Central Government comes. The matter will now be heard again on 21 July.

(Kanhaiya Lal was murdered by Riyaz Attari and Ghaus Mohammad. The killers claimed that they were avenging a social media post Kanhaiya Lal had allegedly shared in support of Nupur Sharma, a BJP spokesperson who made controversial remarks about Prophet Muhammad).

Amidst this, a video of a large crowd of Muslims chanting “Allahu Akbar” and “Nara-e-Takbeer” is going viral on social media. Users who share the video claims that it is a protest against the film Udaipur Files.
