Fact Check-

We started our investigation with a reverse image search of the video’s keyframes ad the results led us to a similar video of Pappu Yadav breaking down in front of the media, published by ABP News on their YouTube channel on 6 September, 2018. According to the video report, Pappu Yadav became emotional on camera after allegedly being attacked in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur while en route to hold a rally. The description part states, “JAP chief & MP Pappu Yadav’s cavalcade attacked in Muzaffarpur, Bihar allegedly by supporters of bandh against SC/ST amendment act. He was about to hold a rally when he was attacked by the protesters”.

Moving forward, we found the same video uploaded by Pappu Yadav on his twitter account on 6 September, 2018. The post states, “If an attack can be made by brandishing a pistol at an MP with Y security protection, what will be the plight of ordinary people? When I was on the Nari Bachao Padyatra, the protectors of the beast Brajesh had an attack carried out on me”.

We also came some media reports regarding this incident from 2018. The NDTV report with an image of the incident confirming that Yadav was seen breaking down in front of media persons after facing the “wrath of bandh supporters” in Muzaffarpur. Pappu Yadav was attacked in Muzaffarpur by unidentified men armed with pistols and lathis while on his Nari Suraksha Padyatra. He broke down in tears afterwards, stating that without CRPF protection, he could have been killed.

So, all these evidences make it clear that the viral video is old. It does not show Pappu Yadav crying after being denied a place on Rahul Gandhi’s vehicle during the 9 July protest.

Meanwhile we came across Pappu Yadav’s response on recent claim. It states, “I fell down and got hurt. One leader from each party was present there, but this is not an insult. Who sees this as what it depends on them… Nothing is greater than the public; it is acceptable to be insulted for them, not just once but even a million times.”

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be Misleading. This is an old video from 2018, it is unrelated to the recent Bharat Bandh.
