Against this backdrop, a video featuring Diljit Dosanjh has gone viral on social media. In the video, he can be heard saying that he does not care whether he will get work in Bollywood or not, and he has no interest in working in Bollywood. The users are sharing this video, claiming it is his response to the recent Sardar Ji 3 controversy.

Fact Check-

A reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral video led us to a Twitter post uploaded by Anupama Chopra on 12 September 2021. She is the founder of entertainment news portal Film Companion Studios. The post featured an image of the singer-actor in the same attire, and identical background as seen in the viral video. The caption states, “Sunday evening session with @diljitdosanjh on #FrontRow – he says he is blooming, both as a person & as an artist”.

Using these hints, we conducted further searches and found a video on the official YouTube channel of Film Companion Studios, uploaded on 20 September 2021. The viral video appears in the teaser at the beginning of the video and later around the 25:00 timestamp Dosanjh can be heard expressing this opinion.

The description part states, “Diljit Dosanjh is a singular sensation. He is a multi-faceted artist who continues to innovate and entertain his legions of fans – even in the middle of a global pandemic. On FC Front Row, Diljit chats with Anupama Chopra about being productive in a lockdown and his evolution as an artist”.

Moving forward, we also found a news report about this interview published on Filmfare’s website on 20 September, 2021. 

Another report by the Hindustan Times published on 20 September, 2021, mentioned that in an interview, Diljit Dosanjh said that he doesn’t care about whether or not he cultivates a successful career in Bollywood, as he has absolute control when it comes to his music. He said that nobody can stop him from making the kind of music he wants to, and that he is proud of the fact that Punjabi singers are mostly independent. 

Based on these evidences, we can understand that the viral video dates back to 2021 and unrelated to the current controversy over Sardar Ji 3.
