BTS of Iranian film goes viral as Iran Publicly Executing Jewish Iranians

This video is from the behind-the-scenes of the Iranian movie Bodiless and not an actual execution

Amid the Iran-Israel conflict, a video of a man being hanged is going viral on social media with the claim that it shows Jewish Iranians being publicly executed by the Iranian government. The video suggests these individuals were accused of being Mossad agents.

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation by performing a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a similar video on YouTube channel Alireza Donyadide uploaded on 16 April 2024. The title of the video indicates that it shows behind-the-scenes footage from a movie. As per the description of the channel, Donyadide identified as a stuntman and an action scene designer.

 This indicates that the video is not recent and it predates the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

Using these hints, we conducted further searches and found Alireza’s Instagram page, where he uploaded the same viral video on 2 January. There he mentioned that the footage is from the Iranian film Bi Badan (The Bodyless) which was released in February 2024. 

The visuals seen in the viral video also appear in the film uploaded on YouTube.

As per reports, Iran detained more than seven hundred people for suspected connections to Israel amid the 12-day conflict and the Islamic Republic has executed at least six individuals of different nationalities, on accusations of espionage. But this viral video is unrelated to the current conflict between Iran and Israel.

Taking account of all these evidences, we can understand that an Iranian film scene shared as the Iranian government conducted a public execution of Jewish Iranians. The footage has nothing to do with the current conflict between Iran and Israel.
