However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The viral video is old and unrelated to the Iran-Israel conflict. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a Facebook post on 24 May 2025 which contained an image similar to the screenshots from the viral video. According to the Spanish caption, the image shows a diesel plant explosion in Cadereyta, Nuevo León.

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search. This led us to a video report on a YouTube channel on 22 May 2025 which contained the viral video. The translation of the Spanish description of the video reads, “A diesel storage plant belonging to the company “Marvic” exploded in Cadereyta, Nuevo León; its owner, José Víctor Pablos Vélez, has been under investigation since 2021 for trafficking fuel from the US to Mexico.”

We found the same video uploaded on Roya News English on 22 May 2025. The description of the video read, “A powerful explosion rocked the Marvic diesel plant in Cadereyta, Mexico, setting 13 massive fuel tanks ablaze. One person was injured, and 11 others had to be evacuated as thick black smoke billowed across the area.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the explosion, which triggered a rapid emergency response. The incident has raised serious concerns about industrial safety and fuel storage protocols.”

Similar reports can be seen here and here.

Moreover, the recent Iran-Israel conflict started on 13 June 2025. Thus the viral video predates the Iran-Israel conflict.

This makes it clear that the claim is false. The viral video is old and unrelated to the Iran-Israel conflict.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show an Israeli attack on Iran. The viral video predates the recent Iran-Israel conflict. It shows an explosion at a diesel plant in Cadereyta, Nuevo León, Mexico on 21 May 2025.
