However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The viral video is unrelated to the Ahmedabad Plane Crash. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a website where we found an image similar to the screenshots from the viral video. According to the website, the image is from the Cairo International Airport Museum. According to the website, the museum was established in 2016 to showcase Egypt’s cultural heritage to millions of passengers who pass through the airport each year. Although small, the museum houses an impressive selection of around 70 artifacts, curated from various eras of ancient Egyptian history.

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search. This led us to a video uploaded on the official YouTube channel of Reuters on 24 May 2021. According to the description of the video, Egypt opened two new museums at terminals 2 and 3 of Cairo International Airport that house nearly 360 artifacts.

From the timestamp 1:02, the mummy similar to the one in the viral video, shot from a different angle, can be seen.

Moving forward, we found a longer version of the viral video uploaded on a YouTube channel on 24 April 2025. The description of the video reads, “At Cairo International Airport’s Terminal 3 Museum, you’ll find a stunningly preserved mummy from Egypt’s 18th Dynasty—one of the most iconic and powerful eras in ancient Egyptian history. This period gave us legendary pharaohs like Tutankhamun and Hatshepsut. The mummy showcases advanced embalming techniques, including intricate linen wrappings and the use of resins that kept the body intact for over 3,000 years. It’s a rare chance to witness Egypt’s rich history without even leaving the airport!”
