This video of Iranian girls celebrating Israel’s attack on Iran is old.

The video is unrelated to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

Israel launched strikes in Iran on 13 June, leading to several rounds of Iranian missile and drone attacks on Israel. Following this, a video purporting to show Iranian girls celebrating Israel’s attack on Iran has gone viral on social media.

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation by performing a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a similar video on YouTube uploaded on 4 October, 2022 under the caption “Students protest in Iran,” The description part states “Protests against repression in Iran have spread to university and school classrooms, where students have removed their hijabs”.

We also found the same video on the social media platform Reddit with the same description. This post was also uploaded on 4 October, 2022.

Upon further search we found that this video was posted on Twitter also on 4 October, 2024. 

 Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman, died in September 2022 in the custody of the Iranian regime morality police called Gasht-e-Ershad of the country for not wearing the mandatory hijab. Her death sparked major protests in worldwide. This led to massive protests against the Islamic regime in Iran.

As per NDTV report published on 5 October 2022, states that the Iranian schoolgirls came to the fore in protests over the death of Mahsa Amini, removing their hijab.

Taking account of all these evidences, we can understand that this video of Iranian girls supporting Israel’s attack on Iran is old. The footage has nothing to do with the current conflict between Iran and Israel.
