A Biker Shooting Another Biker On Road In Bihar? Here’s The Truth Behind The Viral Video.

Recently, a video of a biker shooting another biker on the road went viral on social media claiming it to be from Bihar. Sharing the video on Facebook, users wrote, “In this Mangalraj government of Bihar, Pawan Dusadh was shot dead on the road in daylight!

If this murder had happened in Tejasvi Yadav’s government, then every Godi media channel would have screamed that: – “Jungle Raj has returned in Bihar!””

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The viral video is old and unrelated to Bihar. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a report published in Spanish on 8 October 2024 which contained an image similar to the screenshots from the viral video. Although the report didn’t mention the time and location of the incident, it’s clear that the video is not recent.

Moving forward, we found a report published on 4 October 2024 which contained an image similar to the screenshots from the viral video. 

The report read, “A 22-year-old man, identified as Gabriel Júnior de Oliveira Medeiros, was murdered on Friday morning (04) in the Mandacaru neighborhood, in João Pessoa. Images from security cameras in the region show the suspects’ route before the crime, which occurred on Avenida Dom Manoel Paiva, one of the main streets in the neighborhood, close to the area known as “Cinco Bocas” . The delivery boy was shot by two criminals on a motorcycle while making a payment for the financing of his own motorcycle at a lottery house.

Police Chief Giovanni Giacomelli, from the Capital Homicide Unit, reported that the police have already identified one of the suspects and are very close to identifying the second. “We have obtained clear images of the license plate of the motorcycle used in the crime and information that indicates who the suspects are. We will continue with the investigations to try to make the arrest today ,” said Giacomelli.

According to the police chief, Gabriel Medeiros was known as a worker and there was, to date, no evidence of involvement in criminal activities. “Apparently, he had no motivation to be the target of a crime of this nature, but this will be verified during the course of the investigation,” he added.

The crime was reported at around 9:50 am, and the police were called shortly after, at around 10:20 am. The forensic work began at 11 am, with the scene being cordoned off and investigated. The police continue to analyze the security footage and other evidence to elucidate the details of the case.”

Another report containing an image similar to the screenshots from the viral video was published on 4 October 2024. 

The report read, “A 22-year-old man was shot dead on Friday morning (4) while riding a motorcycle along Rua Dom Manoel Paiva, in the Mandacaru neighborhood, in João Pessoa. The victim, who was a motorcycle courier, was shot by two men on another motorcycle.

Images from a security camera in the area recorded the moment when the criminals pulled up alongside the victim’s motorcycle, and the passenger fired several shots, killing the motorcyclist on the spot.

The Civil Police have already identified the suspects and are conducting investigations in an attempt to capture them in the act. According to police chief Giovani Giacomelli, the victim had no criminal record and, to date, there are no apparent motives for the murder. An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the crime.”
