However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The video is not from Kashmir. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by taking screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a Facebook post where the viral video was uploaded on 9 March 2025. The translation of the caption reads, “A group was trying to ambush the Syrian army on the Syrian coast, so they were dealt with.”
We found one more Facebook post where the same viral video was uploaded on 9 March.
The caption of the post read, “Hunting remnants in the Latakia Mountains”
Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search. This led us to a tweet from Turkish media on 9 March 2025, which contained the viral video. The translation of the Turkish caption read, “Syrian Security Forces reached the bodies of the security forces killed in the attack by the ousted regime elements in Qardaha, Latakia.”
Other reports can be seen here and here.
Although, we could not confirm the exact date of the video, it is clear that the viral video is old and not from Kashmir.
Conclusion
From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show terrorists in Kashmir being killed by the Indian Army. This is an old video available on the internet since March 2025.
