However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The viral video is old and from Gaza. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a longer version of the video uploaded on a YouTube channel on 25 July 2024. The description of the video read, “The occupation’s attack on Khan Yunis has displaced people without anything”.

We found a longer version of the viral video on an Instagram post on 22 July 2022. The caption of the post reads, “Israeli forces drove Palestinians out of Khan Younis with relentless airstrikes and invasion. At least 35 killed, including children, and dozens more injured.”

We found a report published on 22 July 2024 which contained images similar to the screenshots from the viral video. The report read, “A video clip documented the moment civilians fled the Khan Yunis area after Israeli tanks entered and demanded their immediate exit. The video showed women, children, and men rushing to flee the area, carrying whatever food and supplies they could. Video users commented on the tanks’ sudden entry, saying that the Israeli army appeared to have located Sinwar.”

We found a similar video on the official X handle of Al Jazeera English on 22 July 2023. The caption of the tweet reads, “Video shows hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza fleeing from eastern Khan Younis after Israel launched new attacks on the city.”

This makes it clear that the viral video is an old video from Khan Yunis, Gaza.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show people in Pakistan running away after Operation Sindoor. This is an old video from Khan Yunis, Gaza, which shows the Palestinians fleeing from Khan Yunis after an evacuation order on 22 July 2024.
