This is not the Azerbaijan PM acting inappropriately in the viral video

This is an old video, and it shows former Azerbaijani MP Huseynbala Miralamov acting inappropriately, not PM

A video of an old man touching a woman’s back inappropriately is going viral on social media. By sharing this video, it is being claimed that, this man who misbehaved with the woman is the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan.

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a report published on the BBC Azerbaijan website on 22 April 2021. The report features a screengrab of the viral video. The report states, “Former MP Huseynbala Miralimov has been dismissed from all his positions in the NAP due to a “video” showing his unethical behaviour towards a woman believed to be his employee”.

The New Azerbaijan Party expelled former MP Huseynbala Miralimov for misbehaving with a woman. In addition, he was also removed from the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University where he was a professor. Huseyinbala Miralamov represented the New Azerbaijan Party in parliament for many years.

Moving forward, we found a related report published on another website on 30 April 2021. The footage from the viral video was also present in this report and full details of the incident were given. The report states, “Azerbaijani ex-MP and university professor Huseynbala Miralamov was fired after being caught on camera inappropriately touching his woman employee. He was expelled from his party, the New Azerbaijan Party, for misbehaving with a woman. He was a member of the party’s Veterans Council. In addition, he was also removed from the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry. The report also stated that Huseyinbala Miralamov called the incident a conspiracy and said that whoever had circulated the video of the university conference should be found.”

The incident occurred in April 2021 and Miralamov was fired from the New Azerbaijan Party and has since resigned from the university he taught at.

In addition, we also searched the list of former prime ministers of Azerbaijan , but we did not find the name of Huseynbala Miralamov there either.

Conclusion- 

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. This is an old video, and it shows former Azerbaijani MP Huseynbala Miralamov acting inappropriately and not the President or Prime Minister of the country.
