Old Video From Bureij Refugee Camp In Gaza Going Viral As An Indian Airstrike On Pakistan.

A video of an airstrike on a building went viral on social media, claiming it to be an Indian airstrike on Pakistan.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The viral video is an old video from Gaza. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a YouTube channel where a video similar to the viral video was uploaded on 6 June 2024. The caption of the video read, “Palestinian citizen records Israeli shelling of civilian building”

Moving forward, we found the viral video on an Instagram handle of a freelance journalist from Gaza, Ahmed Maqadema. The video was uploaded on 4 June 2024 with the caption,” Occupation aircraft bombed residential buildings in the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

According to the caption, Ahmed Maqadema captured the visuals for Al Jazeera and Anadolu Images.

This makes it clear that the viral video is an old video from Gaza.

Conclusion 

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The video doesn’t show an Indian airstrike on Pakistan recently. The video is old. It shows an Israeli airstrike on residential buildings in the Bureij refugee camp in the Central Gaza Strip in June 2024.
