After the Pahalgam terror attack, one of the victims said that when she asked the terrorists to kill her as well (since they killed her husband), the terrorist said, “I won’t kill you, go and tell this to Modi”. Following the Pahalgam attack, India launched Operation Sindoor and destroyed nine terror bases in Pakistan. Against this backdrop, a video of a person replacing the poster “Tell Modi” with a new poster “I Told Modi” at a bus stop went viral on social media.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the video had been altered. The original video shows actor Sebastian Stan replacing the “Thunderbolts” poster with “The New Avengers”. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to an Instagram post on 7 May where a video similar to the viral video was uploaded, but the poster in the video was different. The video shows the person replacing the “Thunderbolts” poster with “The New Avengers”.

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search. We found a similar video shot from a different angle in a tweet on 5 May 2025. The tweet read, “Sebastian Stan has been spotted replacing ‘THUNDERBOLTS*’ posters with the film’s actual title ‘THE NEW AVENGERS’

Now playing in theaters.”
