Old video of Israel’s attack on outskirts of Beirut viral as visual of India attacking Pakistan

In a terrorist attack that occurred in Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, militants targeted tourists based on their religion, resulting in the deaths of 26 people. In response, India launched “Operation Sindoor” on May 6, 2025, conducting airstrikes on nine sites in Pakistan and POK. 

Against this backdrop, a video of a bombardment on a city in the night is going viral on social media. Users are claiming that this is a visual of Indian forces attacking Pakistan with ballistic missiles. 

However, Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. This is an old video of Israel attacking the outskirts of Beirut, Lebanon. This video has no connection with the current India-Pakistan war.

Fact Check- 

A Google Reverse Image Search on a keyframe led us to the same video tweeted by ‘Voice of America News’ on 28 September 2024. The caption of the tweet reads, “A dramatic video has emerged showing the moment Israeli strikes hit Choueifat, an area on the outskirts of Beirut, in the early hours of Saturday.”

According to the report, on September 27, 2024, Israel conducted an airstrike in Beirut, targeting Hezbollah. The attack resulted in the death of Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s leader, along with other senior commanders. The airstrike destroyed multiple apartment buildings, causing civilian casualties and injuries. 

Apart from this, we also found the same video uploaded on the Associated Press website on 28 September 2024. The caption reads, “Dramatic footage shows strikes and explosions in Beirut Video shows the moment Israeli strikes hit Choueifat, an area on the outskirts of Beirut, in the early hours of Saturday.”

Conclusion: 

Fact Crescendo found the claim to be false. This is an old video of Israel attacking the outskirts of Beirut, Lebanon. This video has no connection with the ongoing India-Pakistan war.
