AI-Generated Apology Video of PM Modi Goes Viral, Claiming Defeat in War With Pakistan

After three days of artillery exchanges, India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire on Saturday. India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced that both sides would “stop all firing and military action on land, air, and sea.”

However, several pro-Pakistan social media accounts began sharing fake apology videos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. These clips falsely claim that the Indian leadership accepted defeat in the war.

Fact Crescendo received several requests to verify such clips through its WhatsApp Tipline (9049053770).

After careful examination of the viral videos, we found that all three videos are AI-generated and are being shared with false claim. These statements are not made by Indian leaders.

WHAT’S THE CLAIM?

A Twitter user named Abubakar Qassam posted three videos featuring PM Modi, Amit Shah, and Dr. S. Jaishankar.

PM Modi is shown saying that “Pakistan has defeated us completely,” that the IPL is shut down, and that the economy is in bad shape.

Amit Shah is shown apologizing for mistreatment of Muslims in India.

Dr. Jaishankar is shown accepting defeat and apologizing for the outcome of the war.

FACT CHECK

There are no credible news reports of any such statements from Indian leaders. If PM Modi or other ministers had issued such a video, it would have been widely covered by major news outlets. But no such coverage exists.

On close examination, it is clear that the videos are AI-generated. The lip and eye movements do not match real speech, which is a common sign of deepfake content.

PIB Fact Check, the official fact-checking arm of the Indian government, also debunked the videos, stating clearly that they are fake and AI-generated.

PIB further said the videos are part of a disinformation campaign run by pro-Pakistan accounts.

The user who posted them has a history of sharing fake content using AI tools.

CONCLUSION

The viral videos claiming that PM Modi, Amit Shah, and Dr. S Jaishankar apologized after a defeat in war are completely fake. These are AI-generated and have been shared online to spread false information.
