However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The video is old and shows an explosion at a chemical plant in Port Neches, Texas. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a YouTube channel where the viral video was uploaded on 28 November 2019. The caption of the video read, “TPC Group Plant Fire Explosion in Port Neches Texas – 2:50pm 11-27-19”

The description of the video reads, “Driving by when the TPC Group Plant exploded and sent a tower flying like a rocket. This is in Port Neches Texas around 2:50pm on 11-27-19”

The same video was uploaded on another YouTube channel on 28 November 2019. According to the description, the video shows an explosion at the Port Neches chemical plant on 27 November 2019.

We found a report published on 28 November 2019 that contained an image similar to the screenshots from the viral video. The report read, “An explosion at a chemical plant in Port Neches, Texas, prompted officials to order everyone in a four-mile radius to evacuate on Wednesday afternoon.

Sounds of multiple explosions at the TPC Group plant in eastern Texas could be heard as flames erupted towards the sky. Roughly 60,000 people in the surrounding areas were evacuated, CBC News reported.

The Port Neches police department said in a Facebook post that it was trying to enact a curfew by Wednesday evening. According to local news station KBMT, “A 10 p.m. curfew is in place for affected areas only.”

Three people were injured and no one was killed as of Wednesday afternoon, according to KBMT. One person was reportedly airlifted to a Houston hospital.”

Other reports can be seen here and here.

This makes it clear that the video is old and shows an explosion at a chemical plant in Port Neches, Texas.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show the Karachi Post being destroyed by the Indian Navy. It shows an explosion at a chemical plant in Port Neches, Texas, on 27 November 2019.
