Old video from Mumbai shared as Sialkot, Pakistan after Operation Sindoor

This is an old video of a massive fire in Mumbai’s Dharavi area due to a Lpg gas cylinder explosion. Not from Sialkot, Pakistan.

India launched missile strikes on nine terrorist targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir in the wee hours of Wednesday, 7 May 2025. The attacks, known as Operation Sindoor, were carried out in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. 

Against this backdrop, a video of a massive fire and explosion is being shared with the claim that it shows the situation of Sialkot, Pakistan after Operation Sindoor. 

Let’s check the truth.

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation by performing a reverse image search with the key frames of the viral video and the results led us to the same video uploaded by an Instagram user around one month ago. It indicates that the viral video is not recent and related to Operation Sindoor.

Moving forward, we found a Tweet by Times of India uploaded on 25 March 2025 featuring the similar video. It states, “Massive fire erupts in #Mumbai’s #Dharavi after leakage from a LPG gas cylinder atop a truck carrying several cylinders”.

As per reports, “Multiple explosions occurred when a fire broke out in a parked truck carrying LPG gas cylinders near the Dharavi bus depot, Mumbai in March 2025. Witnesses feared a major disaster had the truck been in a residential area. The fire, which started due to leakage from one cylinder, caused over 20 cylinders to explode. No injuries were reported”.

All these evidences confirms that the viral video is old and not related to the recent airstrike by India on Pakistan.
