Old Video From Gaza Going Viral As Indian Airstrike On Pakistan.

A video showing a few people roaming in a campsite, and then suddenly a bomb hits the place, causing the people to panic, went viral on social media. Sharing the video, users claimed that the video shows an Indian attack on Pakistan.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. This is an old video from Gaza. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a tweet on the official X handle of The New York Times on 15 November 2024. The tweet contained the viral video. The tweet read, “The Israeli military bombed a densely populated tent encampment on Wednesday in southern Gaza that was designated as a humanitarian zone for thousands of displaced Palestinians.”

According to the text written on the video, the attack took place on 13 November 2024 in a tent encampment in Al Mawasi, Gaza.

A detailed report published in The New York Times on 14 November 2024 reads, “The Israeli military has bombed a densely populated tent encampment in southern Gaza designated as a humanitarian zone for thousands of displaced Palestinians, saying the airstrike targeted a loaded weapons launcher in the area.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa and a paramedic based at a medical center where the wounded were taken said that at least one person had been killed in the airstrike on the zone, called Al-Mawasi, which took place on Wednesday. Wafa reported that the victim was a child and that more than 20 other people had been injured. The Israeli military said that it had targeted the launcher because it posed a threat to Israeli civilians but did not give further details or say what type of weapons the launcher was carrying. The military added that it had issued advanced warnings to civilians in the area to evacuate.

The Israeli military has carried out a number of strikes on Al-Mawasi in the past and has accused Hamas, the armed Palestinian group that led the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel, of systematically using the humanitarian zone and civilian infrastructure to attack Israelis.”

We found a similar video uploaded on an Instagram handle on 14 November 2024.

Conclusion 

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video doesn’t show an Indian airstrike on Pakistan. This is an old video that shows an Israeli airstrike on Gaza.
