However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The people shown in the video were not holding the flag of Pakistan, they were holding the flag of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML). Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to an Instagram post on the official Instagram handle of the Indian Union Muslim League Arangadi where the viral video was uploaded on 25 April 2025. The translation of the Malayalam caption reads, “Feeling sad to see so many idiots who don’t even have the sense of Pakistan’s flag and league’s flag. Try to comment only after you are convinced of what this performance is for. Sanghis are misleading you, be careful”

We found the same video on the Instagram handle Muslim League KL 14, uploaded on 19 April.

The word “Arangadi” can be seen clearly written on the jerseys of the people in the video.

Moreover, the flag shown in the video is the flag of IUML, not of Pakistan. Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) is an Indian political party and a part of the United Democratic Front (UDF), an alliance led by Congress in Kerala. A comparison between the flag of Pakistan and the flag of IUML can be seen below.

To know more, we contacted the authorities of the IUML. PK Firos, General Secretary of the Muslim Youth League Kerala State Committee, said, “The video is from the Sunni Waqf rally conducted by the Muslim League in Kozhikode on April 16, 2025. Activists from Arangadi in Kasaragod district presented the rally on the Kozhikode beach. The party workers chant slogans praising the Muslim League and the Panakkad family, which is considered to be the authority of IUML in Kerala. It is completely false and misleading to say that it is a pro-Pakistan rally. The rally has no connection to Pakistan in fact.

This makes it clear that in the viral video, the people are holding the flag IUML and wearing jerseys with “Arangadi” written on them.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The people in the viral video were not holding the flag of Pakistan. They were holding the flag of IUML and wearing jerseys with ‘Arangadi’ written on them. The video is from the Sunni Waqf rally conducted by the Muslim League in Kozhikode on April 16, 2025.
