Asaduddin Owaisi Cracking Jokes With Fellow JPC Members After Passing Of The Waqf Amendment Bill? Here’s The Truth.

Recently a video of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi allegedly cracking jokes with a few BJP members after the passing of the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 went viral on social media. Sharing the video on Facebook, users wrote, “Saviours of minorities and democracy enjoying behind the scenes and laughing happily after passing Waqf Amendment Bill.

Razakar Owaisi is having the loudest tahakas.

He tore apart the bill in Parliament and did r@ndi rona in front of the media.

For his votebank he displayed as if he is devastated and everything is totally lost for his beloved qaum.

But away from the media glare, you can see the reality. Owaisi doesn’t really give a rat’s arse for common Muslims. He merely wants them to vote for him in elections and come on the roads to pelt stones when called.

Meanwhile Abdul from Seelampur jhuggi is ready to shed blood and have his house bull-dozed so that his Qaum’s maqsad is fulfilled.”

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was misleading. The viral video of Asaduddin Owaisi predates the Waqf Amendment Bill passing date. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a tweet by the “Press Trust Of India” on 29 January 2025 where the viral video was uploaded. The caption of the tweet reads, “VIDEO | Members of the Joint Parliamentary Committee scrutinising the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, meet over tea after it adopted the draft report.”

Taking this clue, using relevant keywords, we found a report published on ANI on 29 January 2025. The report contained an image similar to the screenshots from the viral video. According to the report, the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Waqf Amendment Bill adopted the draft report and the amended revised bill on 29 January.

A video report uploaded on the official YouTube channel of The Indian Express on 29 January 2025, which contained the viral clip, can be seen below.

It is worth mentioning that the Waqf Amendment Bill was passed on 4 April 2025.

This makes it clear that the video predates the Waqf Amendment Bill passing date.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is misleading. The viral video of Asaduddin Owaisi laughing and talking with fellow JPC members is not after the passing of the Waqf Amendment Bill on 4 April 2025. It’s from 29 January 2025 after JPC adopted the draft report on the Waqf Amendment Bill.
