Video From Ghazipur Going Viral Linking To The Nagpur Violence.

After the Nagpur violence over Aurangzeb’s tomb, a video of some people calling for a boycott of the Muslim community allegedly from Nagpur went viral on social media. Sharing the video on Facebook, a user wrote, “Hindus in Nagpur taking collective decision to boycott and avoid muslims. This after the attack on Hindus by muslims in Nagpur. Anyone, a Hindu, who violates the dictum would be declared an outcast and boycotted too. The Hindus are conducting a Maha Panchayat on 23rd to discuss further course of action where a large gathering of people, the Hindus, is expected from several places.”

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The video is not from Nagpur, but from Ghazipur, Delhi. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

While watching the video, we found that at around the timestamp 1:32, a person mentioned “Ghazipur Gaon, Delhi”. At the timestamp 2:40, another person was talking about getting justice for Rohit Gurjar who was murdered.

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search which led us to a longer version of the viral video that was recorded live on a Facebook profile on 16 March 2025.

(Rohit Gurjar was murdered in Delhi on 09 March 2025 by Jihadis living in Ghazipur Dairy Farm, in which the police is still lax and 4 main accused are out of police custody. Please all my 36 community people come forward to get justice for my brother Rohit.

Place – Ghazipur village

Time – 12 pm

Date – 23 March

Day – Sunday)

Whereas, the Nagpur violence occurred on 17 March 2025. This makes it clear that the viral video predates the Nagpur violence.

According to reports, a man named Rohit Gurjar was shot dead at the Ghazipur flower market on 10 March 2025. Rohit’s family and friends alleged that the police administration is not taking effective measures to arrest the accused. Therefore, they staged a protest on the Delhi-Ghaziabad highway on 10 March 2025.

A “Mahapanchayat” was organised demanding justice for Rohit Gurjar on 23 March 2025.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The viral video is not from Nagpur. The video is from Ghazipur, Delhi where the people were announcing a protest demanding justice for a murder case in Ghazipur, Delhi.
