The video of the demolition of an illegal construction in Indonesia goes viral as a mosque in Uttarakhand

The viral video shows the demolition of a illegally constructed building in a Fantasy Park in Indonesia.

A video showing the demolition of white and green-coloured structures with tombs is going viral on social media with a claim that it shows a mosque being demolished in Uttarakhand.

Fact Check-

We started our investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a similar video uploaded on YouTube on 7 March 2025.It shows the demolition of Hibiscus Fantasy Park in Indonesia. Hibiscus is a park located in West Java, Indonesia. 

A close examination of the footage on YouTube and the footage in the viral video reveals that the building being demolished is the same. 

Using these hints, we conducted further searches and found a report published by  CNBC Indonesia . According to the report, the illegally constructed parts of Hibiscus Fantasy Puncak have been demolished.

We also found a report on CNN’s Indonesian news website. The report was published on 11 March, 2025. According to this report written in Indonesian language, East Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi had ordered the demolition of Indonesia’s amusement park Hibiscus Fantasy Puncak on 6 March, 2025, citing encroachment on land and violation of building height limits.

Fantasy Park officials had been violating regulations since the beginning of construction and had faced warnings from the government.

Moving forward, we found the official Instagram page of Hibisk Fantasy Puncak, there a video uploaded on 23 January, 2025. The building from the viral video can be seen in the video.

Some reports from 2024 show that some illegally constructed mosques in Uttarakhand were demolished. However, the viral video has nothing to do with these incidents. 

So, it is clear that the viral video shows government demolishing illegally constructed buildings in Fantasy Park in Indonesia. The video has no connection to Uttarakhand. 

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. The viral video shows the demolition of a illegally constructed building in a Fantasy Park in Indonesia, it is unrelated to Uttarakhand.
