Fact Check-

We began our investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a report published by the website One Cricket on 18 November 2024. The report contained an image similar to the screenshots from the viral video.  The report states, Pakistani pacer Jahandad Khan made his debut in the third T20I against Australia, but it wasn’t his bowling that caught everyone’s attention. Instead, it was a wardrobe slip-up that turned him into an overnight viral sensation”.

As per the Times of India report, “During the third T20I between Australia and Pakistan, Pakistani debutant pacer Jahandad Khan experienced an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction. While chasing down a boundary hit by an Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, Khan’s trousers slipped down, creating a hilarious moment that was caught on camera and quickly went viral.”

The original video can be seen below. This means that it was clearly not a match against India.

By closely observing, we found that in the viral video, the jerseys of the Pakistani cricketers are different in each scene. In the first scene, the bowler is wearing a light green jersey and in the next, the fielders are wearing a dark green jersey. Therefore, the footage is unlikely to be from the ICC Champions Trophy held in Dubai. When the reverse image of the footage was searched, it was found that the ICC’s Facebook account had posted parts of Virat Kohli’s magical victory on February 23. This video did not include any such fielding attempt as seen in the viral video.

This makes it clear that the viral video is a compilation of footage from two different cricket matches.

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found that the claim made along with the video to be Misleading. The viral video is a compilation of footage from two different cricket matches, edited together to show a Pakistani fielder’s pants falling off as he tries to stop Virat Kohli from hitting a century in the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai.
