Old video of Sunny Leone from Varanasi falsely shared linking to Prayagraj Maha Kumbh

The viral video shows Sunny Leone’s visit to Varanasi in 2023 to promote her music album; it has no connection to Prayagraj Mahakumbh.

Prayagraj’s Maha Kumbh Mela is nearing completion. Every day lakhs of devotees are taking a holy dip. Many big personalities and celebrities have also taken a dip in the Sangam. Meanwhile, a video of Bollywood actress Sunny Leone is going viral on social media, in which she is seen making a video on the banks of the river. It is being told that this video is of the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation with a reverse image search on google and the results led us to a news report published on 17 November, 2023 on the website of Dainik Jagran. The report mentions that “Sunny Leone had reached Varanasi for the promotion of a music album. During this, she visited Baba Vishwanath temple and also attended Ganga Aarti.”

We also found the viral video on the official YouTube channel of Zee News uploaded on 17 November, 2023. According to the details provided with the video states that it was filmed in Varanasi.

Moving forward, we found the same video was uploaded on Sunny Leone’s official Twitter account also on 3 December, 2023. 

Sunny Leone came to Varanasi in 2023 to promote her music album, then she attended Ganga aarti in Varanasi. This old video has been falsely linked to Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. 

All these evidences confirms that the video is from her visit to Varanasi in 2023 and has no connection to the ongoing Prayagraj Kumbh mela.
