A video of Diljit Dosanjh, a well-known Indian singer who has performed concerts all over the world, praising Yogi Adityanath, chief minister of Uttar Pradesh (UP) is going viral on social media. Users who shared the video claims that it shows him praising Uttar Pradesh govt for arrangements made for Maha Kumbh Mela.

Fact Check-

A reverse image and keyword search on Google with the viral video led us to the original video posted by Dosanjh’s official Instagram account on 9 February, 2025. In the video, at the 18:00 timestamp, Dosanjh can be heard expressing gratitude to everyone for supporting him during his India tour. From the 18:28 to 18:40 timestamp in his Instagram video, Dosanjh says, “I want to say a special thanks to the UP government for their special arrangements,” which is similar to the first 12 seconds of the viral video. 

Moving forward, we found another YouTube video of Diljit Dosanjh titled Coffee with Diljit Dosanjh uploaded on 9 February 2025. In the video, viewers were asking him in the comment section about the concerts he has performed worldwide and his future plans. There he discusses his show arrangements and mentioned that UP and Ludhiana had the best arrangements and thanked the UP government. 

In further search, we came across details regarding Diljit’s performance in 10 Indian cities during his Dil-Luminati Tour in October–December 2024. As part of this tour, he performed in Lucknow on 22 November 2024. The viewer in the live video was asking about this particular show, and in response, Diljit praised the UP government for the arrangements. He even expressed his gratitude to the UP government and police for the excellent arrangements in a post on Twitter.

Meanwhile, we checked whether Diljit Dosanjh made any comments regarding Maha Kumbh, but we could not find any credible reports to support the claim. So, we can understand that the viral video is unrelated to the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Mela.
