Samay Raina In Tears Following The Recent Controversy? The Viral Video Is Old.

After the controversy erupted over obscene remarks on the comedy show “India’s Got Latent”, a video of comedian Samay Raina went viral on social media. In the video, Samay Raina can be seen in tears and saying “देर हो गई मुझे देखने में…सब लोगों ने मिलके…”. Sharing the video on Facebook, users are claiming that the video shows Samay Raina in tears after the controversy.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The video is old and not related to the recent controversy. Here’s the Fact Check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to an Instagram post on the official Instagram handle of Samay Raina uploaded on 17 June 2024. The post contained the original version of the viral clip. Here Samay Raina can be heard talking about the show “House of the Dragon” on Jio Cinema. 

This makes it clear that the viral video is a clipped version of the original video. The original video was a paid partnership of Samay Raina with Jio Cinema.

However, after the controversy, Samay Raina tweeted, “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all Indias Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”

Conclusion 

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is False. The video of Samay Raina in tears is old and it was an advertisement for a show on Jio Cinema, “House of the Dragon”. This has no link to the recent controversy.
