Know The Truth Behind The Viral Image Of Anant PadmanabhSwami Idol Claiming To Be 3000 Years Old.

Recently, an image of Anant PadmanabhSwami idol went viral on social media, claiming it to be a 3000-year-old idol made with 7800 kg of pure gold, 780000 diamonds and 780 carats of diamonds. Sharing the image on Facebook, a user wrote, “The 3000 year old

 Sadapatis and modern experts say that its current value is several thousand lakh crores and its price cannot be estimated.   It is known that the group of experts invited from France was surprised and turned back with an uncountable amount.   We should consider it a great privilege to see it with our own eyes.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The idol is not 3000-year-old. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check 

We started our investigation by conducting a reverse image search. This led us to an Instagram handle where a video featuring the viral idol was uploaded on 6 August 2023. The caption of the post read, “Shri Ananth Padmanabhaswamy Jewel measures 8 inches in height and an astounding 18 inches in length.

Handcrafted by 32 people working 16 hours everyday for 2 months, this paragon piece weighs an astounding 2.8 kg.

Adorned with around 75,000 high-quality diamonds, totalling an astounding 500 carats, Sri Ananth Padmanabhaswamy is a sight to behold.

Each diamond has been thoughtfully sourced, masterfully polished, skilfully set. It boasts the finest Zambian emeralds and natural Burmese rubies that fabricate a spectacular, mesmerising look perpetuating divine elegance.

This groundbreaking creation, Sri Ananth Padmanabhaswamy, is set to achieve a new world record bringing an astonishing 9 Guinness World Records™ Titles.”

Moving forward, we found an Instagram post on the Instagram handle “shivnarayanjewellerspvtltd“, where a video of an Idol similar to the viral image was uploaded on 4 August 2023. According to the post, the Idol of Shri Anant PadmanabhSwami was made by Shiv Narayan Jewellers dedicated to Dr B Govindan, Chairman of Bhima Jewellers, Thiruvananthapuram. 

Using relevant keywords, we found an interview with the Managing Director of Shiv Narayan Jewellers who explained the idea behind making this idol.

Further, we found a report published in ANI on 5 August 2023. The report stated that Shiv Narayan Jewellers Pvt Ltd unveiled the Sri Anant PadmanabhSwamy idol dedicated to Dr B Govindan, Chairman of Bhima Jewellers Thiruvananthapuram at India International Jewellery Show (IIJS)2023.

Conclusion 

From our investigation, we can say that the claim is false. The Anant PadmanabhSwami idol in the viral image is not 3000 years old. The idol was made by Shiv Narayan Jewellers and dedicated to Dr B Govindan, Chairman of Bhima Jewellers Thiruvananthapuram.
