Congress leaders did not attend Dr. Manmohan Singh’s last journey-viral claim is false

Congress leaders including Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi attended Dr. Manmohan Singh’s last journey.

Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh died on 26 December 2024 and on 28 December, his funeral was held with state honours at Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi. Meanwhile, a video is going viral on social media, which is being shared with the claim that no Congress leader attended the last journey of Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Fact Check- 

We started our investigation with a keyword search on Google and the results led us to a video report uploaded on NDTV’s YouTube channel on 28 December, we can see Rahul Gandhi on the truck during the last journey of former PM Dr Manmohan Singh. He can be seen in the time stamp of 6 minutes.

Moving on, we came across another video in which Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and others pay respect to Dr. Manmohan Singh at his residence.

Along with this, we also found a post of Deccan Chronicle on Twitter in which Rahul Gandhi and Telangana CM Revanth Reddy can be seen taking part in Manmohan Singh’s last journey.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi along with other Congress leaders reached Nigambodh Ghat to bid final farewell to Manmohan Singh.

Conclusion- 

Fact Crescendo found that the claim made along with the viral video to be False. Thousands of Congress workers including senior Congress leaders had participated in the last journey of late former PM Manmohan Singh.
