Another claim we have come across is that of a graphic card of Marathi daily Sakal. In which also it is claimed that the famous Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai has been claimed by the Waqf Board. The post reads, “Waqf Board claim on Siddhivinayak Temple, which is the idol of Hindus and the identity of Mumbai! Let’s check the truth

Fact Check-

We started our investigation with a keyword search on Google but found no official notices or credible news items to support the claim. Such a significant development would have been covered by all mainstream media outlets, but no reports were found.

In the viral posts, we noticed the logo of the Marathi daily Sakal. We searched their social media handle and found on Facebook from Sakal, where they clarified that the graphic attributed to them is fake and that they have not published any report regarding the Waqf Board claiming ownership of the Siddhivinayak Temple.

Moving forward, we found a tweet by media outlet Mumbai Tarun Bharat on 18 November. A video, where Shri Siddhivinayak Temple Society treasurer Acharya Pawan Tripathi debunks the viral claim, asserting that the Waqf Board has no intention of making any claims on the Siddhivinayak temple, while categorically stating that no one can claim ownership of the revered temple. “The Siddhivinayak Temple is not just a religious place for Mumbai, but it holds immense spiritual significance for Hindus worldwide. It’s a matter of pride for Mumbai and Maharashtra. No one can make any claims on this temple,” Tripathi asserted in the video.

Thus, in our case the claim made in the above post is proved to be false and baseless, temple treasurer clarifies that there is no such claim.

Conclusion-

Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. The viral claim is false, it has been refuted by Pawan Tripathi, Treasurer of Sri Siddhi Vinayak Temple. He clarified that no one has claimed the land of Siddhivinayak Temple.
