False

Image Of An Injured Palestinian Teenager Going Viral As A Hamas Terrorist.

Recently a photo of a person with both arms cut and bandaged went viral on social media. There are bandages on the other parts of his body too. Sharing the video on social media users are claiming that the person in the photo is a Hamas terrorist whose arms were cut off by the Israeli army as well as other parts of the body.

Sharing the photo on Facebook, a user wrote, “The name of the above mentioned Turk terrorist of Hamas, Gaza, Palestine is Mohammad Mahroof! In the terrorist attack on Israel on 7 October 2024, he had cut small children into pieces and cooked their flesh in furnaces and eaten it!

Israel did not kill him but cut off both his hands, took out one kidney, cut off all his child-bearing tools and left him alive so that other terrorists and all the Turk people of Gaza could learn a lesson from him!

Now this surviving jinn will not be able to cut the throat of any human being by saying Allah Hu Akbar for the rest of his life!

This is the only just way to do justice while protecting the word justice न्याय असा असतो.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the claim was false. The person in the photo is not a Hamas terrorist. Here’s the fact check.

Fact Check

We started our investigation by conducting a reverse image search. This led us to the stock image website Alamy where the viral image was uploaded with the description, “Palestinian teenager, Diaa Al-Adini, who was severely wounded in an Israeli army attack targeted an apartment on the al-Qastal Towers east of Deir al Balah, loses both of his arms in Deir al Balah, Gaza on September 02, 2024. Doctors are forced to amputate the limbs of many patients to keep the wounded alive due to medical shortages in hospitals. While trying to cope with the difficulties of life with the help of her sister Aya, Al-Adini dreams of the day he will get a prosthetic arm.”

Taking this clue, we conducted a relevant keyword search and found a news report published in Reuters on 28 August 2024. The report contained three different images of the same teenager.

According to the description of the images, the person in the image is Palestinian teen Diaa-al-Adini, who was severely injured in an Israeli attack on 13 August 2024, resulting in the amputation of both arms.

A similar report was found on the “Arab News” website.

Other reports can be read here and here.

This makes it clear that the viral image is not of Hamas terrorist Muhammad Mahroof but of Palestinian teenager Diaa-al-Adini.

Conclusion

From our investigation, we can say that the claim made with the viral image is false. The photo is not of a Hamas terrorist, Mohammed Mahroof, but of a Palestinian teenager, Diaa-al-Adini. The Palestinian teenager was severely injured in an Israeli attack on August 13 that resulted in the amputation of both his arms.
