Israel launched a large-scale attack on Israel on 2 October 2024. According to the Israeli military, Iran launched around 180 missiles towards Israel. On this backdrop, a video of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu allegedly running for cover inside a bunker went viral on social media. Sharing the video on Facebook, users wrote, “Leaked video of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu running to the Nuclear Bunker during the Iran balastic missile attack on Israel”.

However, as we investigated, we came to know that the viral video is old and not related to Iran’s recent attack on Israel. Here’s the fact check.
Fact Check
We started our investigation by taking some screenshots from the viral video and conducting a reverse image search. This led us to a tweet on 26 August 2024. The video posted along with the tweet was similar to the viral video, but it was flipped.
Iran attacked Israel on 2 October, but the video was uploaded on 26 August. This makes it clear that the viral video is not related to Iran’s recent attack on Israel.
Moving forward, we conducted a relevant keyword search that led us to a Facebook post with the same viral video that was uploaded on 14 December 2021. The caption of the video reads, “Watch: Netanyahu runs through the Knesset corridors to reach the vote on time without delay”

Further, we found the same video on the official Instagram handle of Benjamin Netanyahu. The video was posted on 14 December 2021 with the caption “I am always proud to run for you. 🇮🇱💪🏻 Taken half an hour ago in the Knesset”.
The same video was found on the official X handle of Benjamin Netanyahu on 14 December 2021.
According to a news report Benjamin Netanyahu ran from his office through the corridors of Knesset (Israel’s unicameral parliament) to arrive on time for the vote in the Plenum.
From this, it’s clear that the viral video is from 2021 and it has no link with the recent attack on Israel by Iran.
